LFCW WSL Academy Operations and Assistant Coach

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Liverpool FC Women’s team as an Academy Operations and Assistant Coach. In this role you will ensure that the developing teams are prepared to progress through the Liverpool pathway. You will provide an ongoing supply of talent that can become a part of our First Team squad, whilst ensuring that educational and vocational aspirations are met.

What will you be doing?

• Act as The FA’s primary contact for all Academy related matters and ensure all FA meetings are attended by a relevant WSL Academy staff member/club representative.
• Attend and assist the Academy Head Coach at all training sessions and matches.
• Work with the Academy Head Coach and Education Lead to build a successful dual career academy squad who can compete whilst pursuing further/higher education.
• Complete all administrative for tasks for the LFCW Academy team, including ensuring the Women’s Performance Systems (WPS) is updated, along with all player records.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and Club policies, specifically in respect of safeguarding and youth welfare.
• Act as an appropriate role model to students / youth players.
• Support the Education Lead on all education, lifestyle, and player care programmes
• Manage and develop key relationships with partner Further Education / Higher Education institutions, and the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme.
• Ensure compliance with all leagues, competition and licence rules & regulations.
• Attend Football Management Team Meetings, when required.
• Ensure all qualifications are maintained through a programme of CPD and any training needs identified through appraisal.
• Foster a positive environment for learning and development within the WSL Academy Squad.
• Work collaboratively with the LFCW WSL Academy Multi-Disciplinary team to meet club and team objectives.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful, you will have proven track record of working with and developing players at elite club level or national level, including relevant professional experience in a performance sport environment. You will hold a UEFA B Licence and will have a Sport related/education undergraduate degree. You’ll be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Women & Girls’ talent pathways and the ability to create positive working relationships with all key stakeholders, including players and player’s families. You will be committed to diversity, equal opportunities, and continuous professional development.

You’ll have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a professional environment and willingness to work regular weekends and evenings. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, including proven management skills.

Ideally you will have previous experience in an education setting and have the following qualifications: FA Youth Award, FA Safeguarding certificate, FA Basic First Aid certificate and are working towards UEFA A licence.

This is a full-time permanent role working 35 hours per week on a 5 from 7-days basis, including working afternoons, evenings, weekends, and WSL Academy match fixtures. Your main base will be our LFC Women’s Academy in Birkenhead.
