About the role

We are looking for a Licensing Manager with a proven background in licensing to join our Licensing Team based at our London office. In this newly created role where no two days are the same, you will support the Vice President Licensing in the development and execution of a long-term business strategy for the global Licensing business that leverages the LFC IP (past & present) to build a sustainable business that achieves annual revenue targets.

Your focus primarily will be on the development of pre-determined partners (Licensees / Agents), driving new business and supporting the day-to-day management of the total licensee base. You will be responsible for day to day administration of the licensing programme both domestically and internationally.

What will you be doing?

  • Work with the Vice President – Licensing to develop and execute long-term growth strategies for the Global Licensing business by category.
  • Identify licensing opportunities and fill market gaps across all categories.
  • Define and integrate assigned licensees within wider retail and marketing plans where relevant
  • Work on the creation of targeted presentations to pitch, support or launch licensing programmes or specific category areas, customized to each key market for licensees, agents and partners
  • Maintain knowledge of key Seasonality and buying cycles of identified key retailers
  • Main point of contact for appointed assigned licensee’s and Licensing Agents
  • Regular liaison with the Product Development team to drive quality and champion innovation in product
  • Manage all licensing requests and review all new proposals. Negotiate any new proposals or renewals.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitors, business opportunities, threats and attend trade shows and social industry functions where applicable
  • Support the legal team with the drafting of new contracts and support the sign off process
  • Fiscal responsibility of pre-determined partners and new business target to include annual budget planning and quarterly revenue forecasting
  • Analyse licensee performance against MG & identify any issues or areas of opportunity, define growth objectives and strategies
  • Support Licensing Coordinator / Finance team with royalty reporting and invoicing for all Agents & Licensees.
  • Support VP with the preparation, monitoring and control of the licensing budget
  • Provide monthly business review providing updates on licensee activity, new business pipeline and competitor information and re-forecast on the business, identifying any sales gaps with proposals on activity to fill any deficit

Who we are looking for

To be successful, you will be degree educated (or equivalent), with a substantial track record in licensing and category management with knowledge of DTR.  With your analytical mindset, you will have strong commercial acumen and financial awareness as well as experience of P & L management.  You will be an excellent negotiator with experience of presenting to business leaders confidently Ideally, you will have experience of licensing internationally and agent management.

You can work flexibly to meet the needs of the business. This will include regularly working from our London office as well as travelling domestically and internationally to meet licensees & agents where required.

This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday based at our London office
